Scottish RMR Holding Troops and the footie...

Post by rabby »

So, how many guys are in Holding Troop here? Just thinking is it worthwhile going tomorow, considering its the biggest match Scotland has had for Donkey's. How many people do think are going to turn up if any, I would as I'm not that bothered about it, but I suspect many will be watching the footie. Might look daft if I'm the only one to turn up...

Holding Troop is for the wannabe RMR guys preparing for their PRC - They go to the unit on the Parade night and get a good thrashing from the PTI's and get to know the other guys that want to join

Sorry phil, don't beleive Bristol have a holding troop. The period between doing the presentation evening's and the PRC is to short to do one, and within a couple of weeks from that you have kit and documents weekend that puts you straight in to phase 1a training.

If your not up to standard during your pahse 1a and 1b training then the training staff will give you the training/ advice to get you fit!

Medical and Documentation is the 20th june
PRC is on the 4th July

So you have some extra time to get sorted before PRC

Yep, im not sure i'll be ready by then mate :( few things going on at the moment :(. September time would be ideal in every respect. Is there just the one intake this year?

I'll have a chat with the recruiting guy tommorow evening, i'll give him a bell :)

If you miss this one you will have to wait till Jan 04 for the next recruiting intake.

Bristol only plan to do two intakes in any training year

If you pass the july PRC there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to complete your phase 1a course in november. That leaves you with a summer comando course

Philm, by the sound of it from our random chats on messenger, you are already fit enough running wise and the amount of yomping you do seems to be more then. The only thing you might need to work on is your upper body and thats it. So start banging out more of those press ups mate.
