I used to work at HMSB HMS neptune,,, I alway found subs to be full of smelly seamen :) . No to be truthful I went on board both diesel and Nukes and my hat come of to anyone who serves on them. Diesels small smelly, hot bunking but shorter patrols. Nukes a bit more comfort but away for 3 months (SSBNS) , under all the time. I remember the lads were not allowed to drive for the first few days as their vision was inpared from not beeing able to see further then 10/12 feet for 3 months ( maybe a submarines dit but it sounds good)

I alway like submariners they were more like bootnecks than normal skimmer crews.

O-class boats had a strange mixture of aromas. Think "bus garage" think "sweaty gymn" think"who`s farted again"
Hot bunking? That sounds like the first Mrs Hackedoff
