Bleep test...

Post by JulesB »

Errrr sorry guys, bit off the topic this, but....

Im doing my police fitness test on Tuesday of next week and Bedfordshire does the 15m test. Ive had a weeks notice and so havent really practiced the bleep although my general fitness is ok. Problem is that my gym only have a copy of the 20m bleep. How much difference in seconds is there between the 15m times and 20m times. I counted this morning and I reckon the first level on the 20m is about 7 seconds per 20m shuttle.

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers chaps....

From what i've heard, the 20m test is slightly harder. Maybe it's worth trying just that and pushing yourself really hard? Should prepare you well for the 15m counterpart. Aim for Level 10+...

I would second what Dan says. If you can hit level 10 on the 20m bleep test you will pass the 15m bleep test no worries.
What level you gotta make? Most forces want about 9.5 dont they?

Also, may be worth visiting this site about police bleep tests with a download site and info about the length in secs of each level and stage

http://www.charlies-aunt.org.uk/bleep_test.htm

Also, follow the link from the above site to the essex police website where they have all details about all their fitness tests.

Best o'luck. :fadein:

PS- the download bleep test on that site is the 15m version.

I hate to tell you this, but as of F03 the pass standard required for the 15m police 'bleep' test has been dropped from 8/1 to 5/4! I did the required 5/4 on the 20m test. According to the Essex info that means I covered 700m (to level 5/4) on the 20m test as opposed to 525m for the 15m...I suppose that must be ok??

Thats why the cops never catch any thieving scumbags, cos they dont have to be particularly fit these days and cant catch the little sods!

Practised again this morning and did 6/2. Tomorrow Im aiming for 7/1. Its a case of technique and counting time properly I think. But whatever I do on the 20m Im going to be ok on the 15m....

Oh and the avatar was the first one I found that looks remotely like me!

I told Harry that I thought the photo quality had been lost somewhat through the scanning and uploading! Wonder if I should have done that now....I might have brought on some sort of heart condition!

That's the problem with the Miscellaneous Forum...full of more 'mature' lads you have to be careful around :D Head down, waiting for the incoming (again)!

Do you look like a cartoony, well endowed 6 year old? If so, I think we have to meet up!

5/4, surely thats a joke??? That is why police never catch crooks. The other problem is that once you have finished training there are no more fitness tests for your entire career. Police are free to become as unfit as they wish and still "chase" the criminals!

I think police should be fitness tested at leadt once a year. But anyways, this aint a police forum is it!

If you want to speak to people on a very similar forum basis to this one about the police have you tried http://www.police-information.co.uk/
