training pay

Post by Charlie Boy »

Just a couple of quick questions for those of you in the know. How much is an officer paid during training? cant seem to find that info anywhere and i heard somewhere that in the army you have to spend a lot to fit in with the lifestyle they believe an officer should have(guessing that means expeditions and functions etc). Is it the same in the marines?

Any help would greatly apprieciated

As for spending more on food etc generally yes as its of a higher standard (apparently) and the quarters are (apparently) better aswell.

What about Reserve pay? I am joining later this year (dependent on selection  ) but the info I have is that "You will be paid well" or words to that effect, nothing on rate of pay. :-?

WHATTTTTT :o

Not only do you want to be a reservist but you want to be paid as well!!!! :shocked!:

I wouldnt mention pay around your training staff Rabby, or they will make you pay!!!! :D

Tut, these young potential nods, not content with earning the CGB :D

But since you mention it, nod rates are the same as those in regular training,

Phase 1a:- £22/day
Phase 1B:- £28/day
Marine 1A:- £45/day :grab:

But these rates are only approximate (dependent on length of service, SQ's, AQ's)

to go up to the next pay scale you have to have acheived min 6 months in your last scale and also completed that stage of training, I.E.- passed 1a/1b courses.

£22 a day! Imagine how much I can spend down the pub now!
I don't really care what the pay is, but £22 a day suits me well. :)

I don't get taxed :D . As I'm in full time education, no government gets my hard(ish) earned cash.

But at £22 a day he would have to work 210 days of the year as an RMR to meet his personal allowance for the year.
If he gets taxed he would get a nice amount back on tax rebate.
