ISBN: 0-7427-5723-X
Author: John Parker
Publisher: Headline
Cost: £7.99 in paperback

Good book with a lot of the history of the SBS including anedotes from ex members and founder members of the SBS. 4 Sections of 8 pages of glossy photos that aer relevant to the text including: 'X' Craft, Blondie Haslar & Bill Sparks, Buster Crabb, The Sleeping Beauty (submersible Canoe), right up to the Falklands. Just been reading the chapter that mentions Paddy Ashdown quote "Paddy Ashdown was one of the kety members oif the team when the Goldfish trials were reaching a successful conclusion...". The history about the 'raiding parties' are amazing. Some of the stories regarding some of the ops that went wrong and how they came back alive are a true inspiration.
I'm not on royalties for this book but would recomend it to anyone who doesn't want a story book and prefers factual information!

I'd agree with Sticky, I got this book when it first came out in hard back and it was a good buy. No cheap shorts either at the "sister" service (if that's the right terminology). Good read all round, although can be a bit dry in places as it is very factual.
