Tankfest 2008

Post by langers »

History Comes Alive at The Home of the Tank.

At Tankfest 2008 (28th & 29th June) The Tank Museum will present the most comprehensive display of historic moving armour in the world – this year focussing on the armoured vehicles of Britain.

Displays of British armour from the First World War to the present day will be complimented by a display by The Royal Armoured Corps which will include vehicles used on operations today.

Living history encampments will feature British soldiers from the two world wars, and demonstrate how the troops lived, trained, and how the wounded were cared for at the front.

An explosive World War Two mock battle will feature period infantry, equipment and tanks from both Britain and Germany in what is sure to be the highlight of the show.

Entry to the Tank Museum is included in the price, providing an excellent opportunity to explore this vast collection of tanks and uncover the fascinating history of this British invention – and see many of the rarer and more interesting vehicles in action.

Open 10am until 5pm with free parking, there will also be traders stalls and family entertainment on site to make Tankfest 2008 the most explosive day out in history!

That sounds cool. Shame I missed it. Do you think they'll be doing it next year?
