Here's my situ,
Left Uni and got a good well paid job, been in it for 3 years or so and find it, and office life in general tedious and boring. Ive thought about joining the RM since speaking to a lad at uni in my final year who had his heart set on being a Marine (he may well be now). Im 24 and I reckon its this year or never. Problem is ive got a house and a fiance and stuff like that. Dont mind leaving the material shit behind but obviously not the missus. Want some advice on what family life is like in the Marines, i.e. whats it like being away for lengths of time, day to day life and stuff like that. I know I could go the careers office and find this out but I wanna know first hand from people who have maybe done it.
Nice one.

your Situation
Listen in
you obviously are happy beeing a civvie, but you would like to have a go at being a member of one of britains elite fighting forces... why not give it a go as i have in the Royal marines reserves.
it takes over a year to be able to attempt the commando course that means spending a year as a recruit and doing weekends away form home, most of them living in the feild and doing physical trainning in your own time. it is hard but youll ave a good laugh at the same time
i dont know where you live, but there are units and there detachments across the country, if you'd like more info try the Royal navy/royal marines web site, there is a new section about life in the RMR.
let us know what you think anyways.
