Psychologists at Queen Mary, University of London research found this:

Hilary Clinton makes her point:

I would not have a problem with a female airline pilot provided she wasn't expected to reverse park!

I'm always sceptical about psychological experiments with a low sample range (140) and volunteers are, by definition, self-selecting so it was a poorly designed experiment.

The other issue is that the researcher took results from spatial awareness tests and comes out with the statement on the lines of (When driving) 'Women are going to make more errors, take more wrong turns, etc....' It is bad science to extrapolate from virtual reality situations to real-life conditions which is what he's done. For example, it may be that women drive more slowly than men and therefore, might make less errors on the road. Who knows? Certainly, not the researcher because he's never tested it.
In fact they might even get to their destinations more quickly- because they'll stop and ask someone the way, unlike your average male macho driver!!!

Don't know about gay men [honest! :-? ] Well I did once get a lift when walking from Plymouth to Bickleigh, having missed the 3-tonner, by someone of that persuasion but I declined his offer to 'go on to the Moors for a smoke' :o

In general, women have lower insurance premiums than men - and Insurance Companies exist solely to make money, so I'd trust their judgement as to who makes 'better' drivers rather than QM's pyschology faculty - if better is defined as making less errors and, therefore, having less accidents, that is!

It's highly unlikely that the researchers have reached the same conclusion as the journalist.

Good tread indeed Aitch

Sarkozy is the first French Prez to seemingly want better relations with the US of A.
Which makes him a realist.
I still remember the Exocet techs being sent to help the Spicks.
Which makes me a cynic.

I do not trust Kermit.
Always there when they need you 8)

To be fair Aitch, they only sent the techs because they had provided the missiles in the first place!

That`s what`s called a Warranty Agreement, I think. It`s all in the spirit of European Co-operation, so we shouldn`t mock

There is generaly little disagreement that women have more crashes than men. The difference is that male crashes tend to cuase damage to mulitple vehicles and costly damage at that. Women tend to damage their own vehicle and little else in their crashes; this leads to their lower premiums. This is general only of course.

I think because women are not so lead footed.
