Old soldiers

Post by Si Capon »

All the posts in this Forum are sad.
The passing of any old comrade is always a difficult time for those left behind.
I would just like to say that my thoughts are often with those that have passed and those left behind.
I lost my Grandfather last year. He was firstly in the Sherwood Foresters and then the Royal Artillery.
I know he was proud of me and my time in the Corps and I am proud of what he did during the war, not only for me, but for all of us.
He served in North Africa & Italy under General Waverley.
I wish I knew more about his service during the war, but he didn’t talk about it much. I know it wasn’t a particularly pleasant time for him.
He`s pictured below with his brother in 1940

See you soon mate.
Once....................... Always...tup, three
