Problem with Service Pack 2

Basicly my computer won't run it :(, last time we tried the whole computer crashed and took a while to get running. Even though my computer reaches the minimun system requiments, it won't work for some silly reason I don't know and need to find out.
My computers about 7 years old by the way.

have you formatted it recently? If not try (I accept zero responsibility if you feck this up :) ) formatting it (put SP2 installer on a disc) and then installing it fresh on the XP install, then get windows update & any anti-virus you have updating as soon as you connect to the net.
