Filter Interview Advice

Post by allisalie »

Hi everyone this is my first posting and im hoping for a bit of advice.

im 22 and have just finished a HND. i am curtly applying for a Pilot and WSO. i have filled out the application paperwork and gone along to a presentation at my AFCO centre. i have been invited back for i think a filter interview. up to 2 hrs long which is going to take place this thurs, 2 days time. i have been asked to bring original birth certificate, passport, educational certificates, and a couple of other things. i believe the next stage would be the 3 day interview up at Cranwell. right?
i have been informed what this interview will entail but i was wondering if anyone had any advice for me?

i also have a small problem too being that i have been told they will not interview me if i do not turn up with all my legal documents and educational certificates…

as i have only just finished my HND and the certificate may take me up to 4 months to be received but i have acquired a letter form my head of year on official paper explaining this and the AFCO said this would not be a problem.

However what might be a real problem is the face i can not find my GCS’s and Birth certificate. i think they have been lost in a resent move. will this be a big problem. cos i have looked every where and i cannot find them? my interview is to soon to get new ones... should i inform my AFCO before the interview or just turn up on the day do u think?

If you let them know in advance it will be much better. Take along everything you do have, and apply for a new copy of your birth certificate.

The filter interview won't take more than about 45 minutes. Have you been to Cranwell for one of the presentations up there? Last Thursday of every month, and the RAF will pay your rail warrant and give you a room for the night. It's worth getting to if you can.
You can have peace.
Or you can have freedom.
Don't ever count on having both at once.

I'd be a littlt concerned with myself that if, 2 days before interview, I did not know the answer to this question.
