Info for my wife

Post by Craiginmk »

Hi, Im 29, married with 2 little girls one 19 months and the other 1 month. Im thinking of joining the RLC as a driver but will wait till my little one is 6 months (a little less demanding then). Can anyone give me some real advise about what it would be like for my wife and kids when I go on tour, what the family houses are like etc… any other info would be much appreciated.

I went on this course a while back, forget the bases name this is just an example of one base (I'm not in the army by the way).
The married-quarters were placed on base aswell as off, the army try and get you the right amount of rooms but I think some unluckly got 2 bedroom house (2 parents, 2 children) but most of that size got a 3 bedroom house. The houses in base were made to look exactly the same as normal houses with street names, telephone boxes etc. and the outside homes are just normal houses mixed with some cilvilian houses.
If you went away on tour, the welfare (I think it's called) really do try to help your family, the wifes can have meetings and talk etc, if there are any money issues they can be dealt with and if you were KIA they would help and give time for the family to move out. Of course they do other things but that is all I can remeber sorry.

Noooo, I thought you were male Harry :o, can it say if we are male or female on our profiles please because I have been proved wrong to many times. Take English Rose for example, it's a womens choice of name yet she writes like a bloke. joke/

I have no idea what you are talking about, does it have anything to do with fishing or chocolate?
