what shal i do like?

Post by mad4it »

alright boys im a serving pongo at the moment, currently in THE RIFLES as a LCpl. However i am looking to make the jump over to the royal marines. i am 19 years old and was wondering if anyone could tell me what would be best....would it be no1....put in my transfer, and get over there within the next year bearing in mind the marines will know i have just come from the army and i may have it that little bit tougher.

Or no2.....finish my army service which will be my 22nd birthday and go straight to the AFCO and start new. i dont mind the wait just as long as i join. what do u guys reckon would be best? Also what do u think about joining at the age of 22?? thanks

Personally mate, I'd go for it ASAP. The longer you leave it the more you'll lose out in terms of seniority etc. Plus, do you really want to be perce for another three years?

Not interested in making the jump to Para Reg or SFSG instead mad? Would seem to make more sense, since that's a much simpler rebadge than going through basic all over again at CTC, and you'd keep your rank & pay grade.

Shouldn't have to start from scratch I don't think? De-percify and Commando Course is all that's required I thought? Search, it's definitely been covered a few times before.
