I was chatting to a former booty the other day and we got talking about the recruitment process for RN and RM. I almost joined RN as a clearance diver about 6 years ago, but pulled out about a month before Raleigh due to family problems. I remember the medical standing out because I had to strip off from the waist down while some male doctor had a good root round my tackle.
When I mentioned this to my mate he cracked up laughing and said that he thought I'd been the victim of a "crooked" doctor- apparently his RM medical involved no such tackle fondling.
So I thought I'd ask, did I encounter anything out of the ordinary? If not, how come they have to check your unit for the RN but not the RM?!
