yea i didnt mean stright away. Theres only one person i know you went straight to SBS training after his commando course and thats The author of 'first into action' Duncan something.
No my bros gonna spen at least 3 years as a commando then he might give it a go. I dont know if i wann join up full time and go the whole way orjust go reserve. I know theres a RMR but is there a SAS reserve or a SBS reserve? This is probably unlikley but if im gonna join up then i wanna try and go the whole way and become a special forces operative but i dont want my whole life to revolve around it.

Im a CWO in the ATC and from my experience its adult staff that are the worse. We had an ex-army WO on a camp who still thought he was beasting squaddies around!
Cadets is great for people wanting to go into the forces, it just pisses me off when you get adult staff getting thier kicks out of slaughtering 14 year olds.

Funkydrunkpunk. With that moniker you will never get into SBS/SAS! You will also need to learn Grammar and Spelling!! UKSF do not take un-educated personnel.

1. The only person who, allegedly, went straight from training to SBS training was Duncan Falconer. That was not his real name. It is not normal to go along that route. You almost certainly have to do a tour with an operational unit before applying for SF training.
2. There is a RMR SBS. It is centered on Bristol and London, and by association, Poole. There did use to be units based in Newcastle, Glasgow and Liverpool. I do know. I was an instructor at RMR Tyne, (Newcastle, for you guys with no sense of geography!). I was an instructor for the SBS detachment at RMR Tyne. They did produce some good guys for the SBS Reserve. As did the guys from London Glasgow and Liverpool.
The RMR is still a good way of getting a feel for SBS work, althougth the bases for the SBS reserve have been drastically reduced.
3. If you "don't want your whole life to revolve around it". Then don't even bother to apply for SF training.
Your whole life will revolve around it - should you pass. And if you do pass - you wouldn't want it any other way.
