G'day Johnny5, I nearly joined the RUC in 1964. I went through the process from Ballyhackamore Police Station, right through to Castlereagh but changed my mind and came to Australia instead.

Being a Bangor man you probably know Nat Russell (ex RUC) who is now out here as an Inspector with the Police Pipe Band.

Enjoy your well earned retirement.

Sorry my friend I knew a few Russle’s but Nat does not ring a bell, I never worked in Bangor mind you. We moved away in 1982 after some friendly republicans put a letter in my letter box!
