The book and the movie are ok, prefer the movie cause they cut the boring crap out of it.

I prefer the soundtrack, they cut all the boring crap out of that one.

I know its realistic and a tru-ish reflection of what went on, but Ive done the real thing, and I go to the movies to be entertained , not bored senseless.

I thought Anthony Swofford was very honest and the language he used in the book made it seem real to me. I really enjoyed the book and read it in about three sittings.

The movie was garbage.

The book was well written, but not by Swofford unfortunately.
The fillum was shite as you say. Our American cuzz has several websites and discussion forums like this one and they all panned Swofford as an axe-grinder with chips on both shoulders.
Read what I said about Nate Fink. That`s the what the real USMC are like.
