Post AACC prospects for Navy officers

Post by chris78290 »

I have been looking through the RN website but have failed to come up with an answer to my question...

What new avenues does the All Arms Commando Course offer to Navy Officers?

Considering the All Arms Course is in no way a replacement for the skills and tactics learnt in the full YO training at CTCRM I would assume that Navy officers who have passed the AACC would not be suitable for the officer roles a full RM officer would fulfill. What, in that case, are Navy officers who have passed the All Arms course able to do that those without cannot??

To do the AACC as a RN rating or Officer, you have to have a skill the RM needs. No matelot does the AACC and then goes on to command bootnecks, nor do the Army ones either (unless theres the odd exchange post/draft)

RN officers are Medical Branch officers (Med Sqn.HQRM), Doctors and Dentists (all units and bases), who are being drafted to the Corps. Ive seen the odd pilot (3 BAS days), padre (x2) and educational officer (x1) with the green beret aswell.

They are there to do the same job as they do in the Navy except its with the Marines (whom the Marines are part of)
