New and Help needed

I am tracing back on my family history and need pointing in the right direction if poss.

My great uncle, was a sapper in the royal engineers, his unit was 1010 docks operating coy. can anyone tell me more about this?

Also he was killed like many on the 17/06/43 how do I find out how and where?

I do not know any more information than this.

We are currently based out here in germany with 21 Engineer regiment REME, i will pass on your details and see what i can find out for you. I now the RSM will be in the Mess tomorrow to watch the Rugby and he will be the man in the know and if not will be able to find out.
