Sad and reluctant farewell

Post by 2nd time round »

Hi All,

I havent posted for a while as I have been waiting to go back to OASC at Cranwell due to my teacher training finishing. Anyhow, I have had a sequence of unfortunate events this last week which started in training. I thought I had torn a muscle but after seeing my leg swell like a balloon and being in agony I reluctantly went to the docs only to be taken to A & E to be diagnosed with extensive DVT. Consequently I am now taking Wafarin to thin my blood and have had to stop training until my blood levels stabilise. After talking to the AFCO, they have said I can apply but I am a risk factor, cut a long story short, my dream of joining and becoming an Officer are now over.
Just wanted to thank all those who helped me in the past, TJD, Biggles, big cheese etc etc, sorry if i missed anyone out.
I have been through OASC twice and very very narrowly missed out last time but if anyone wants any info or I can help please let me know.
Looks like I wont be going round again after all !!.
Keep trying & don't fall at the first hurdle !

Thats really unlucky for you mate. All the best for the future, at least you still have your teacher training to fall back on. :)
