I think the case will go like this...
Prosecutor: "Inland revenue... I rest my case"
Judge Advocate: "Guilty... send him down!"
BBC website wrote:Court martial over 'abuse' photos
One of the faked pictures depicted a soldier urinating on an Iraqi
A soldier is facing a court martial over fake photographs published by the Daily Mirror that purported to show British troops abusing Iraqi prisoners.
Stuart MacKenzie, 25, was charged over the hoax which led to the sacking of Mirror editor Piers Morgan.

An MoD spokesman said a trial would start on Monday at the court martial centre in Catterick, North Yorkshire.

One photo was said to depict a Queen's Lancashire Regiment soldier urinating on an Iraqi.

Doubts about the authenticity of the photographs were expressed by experts in the days following the publication and the MoD questioned at least one soldier in connection with the incident.

But a lorry shown in the shots had never been used in Iraq, a two month Royal Military police investigation concluded.

The newspaper's apology said: "We apologise for publishing pictures which we now believe were not genuine.

"We also say sorry to the Queen's Lancashire Regiment and our Army in Iraq for publishing those pictures."

Mr MacKenzie, from Haslingden, Lancashire, is in the Territorial Army but went to Iraq attached to the 1st Battalion, QLR.

He works for the Inland Revenue.

He is expected to enter a plea on Monday when the case is likely to be adjourned until a later date.
I wonder if he realised the full potential that his actions would bring?

I cannot wait to hear what he says in his defence, if he says anything at all. What did he hope to achieve and what motivated him to do this...

I wonder if he was harbouring a grudge against the Army for sending him to Iraq.

I wonder if, like the original story, this will make the front page...

Somehow I doubt it.

He got off on his court martial, and no further action will be taken against him. He is now giving evidence against the four paratroopers that have been charged with unlawful killing, while he gets immunity.
