ha ha ha. I know your name cos you put it on your "Hello im new" post.
Dont greb on your boots with a greeny cos it will roll off and trickle down the side, just normal saliva.
Do them at weekends and get them shiny and then just buff them slightly on your parade nights..Never tried the butter one but it may work..
enjoy

Cadet Cooper,
Welcome, why not suggest to a senior cadet officer that you perhaps should be shown how to 'bull' your boots?
Try cotton wool, small amounts of polish with a bit of water rubbed repeatedly into the toe-cap.
Or just apply loads of polish to your boots, so they are clean and water proof but not especially shiny, and inform your flight Sgt that you are not a 'parade ground' cadet, and would rather be a warry monster instead.

There must have been a cataclysmic shift in the world order; has Sadman let go with his entire Nukey arsenal? This is a Scouser wanting to clean shoes. What is wrong with the world.
Try feathers method, but use lots of cold fresh water, then run the water droplets off under a slowly running cold tap, that will remove any excess.

Seem to remember the use of a spoon handle, a candle and alot of melted wax?
The idea, so I remember, was to heat the handle of the spoon and rub it hard, over the toecap and liberably covering the whole thing with polish, this was done until the Orange Peeling was smoothed down to an ultra smooth, then the spit and polishing could begin, in Owduns day I believe they used bone, usually, supplied from the French Prisoners of war.
This method worked well but took time and elbow grease, but it cleared the problem of dimpling.
Aye

We used the tip of a steam iron to get rid of the dimples, BUT the boot cap needed loads of polish and a tender touch or you would cock the whole thing up. It's just a bit mind numbing, but strangely satisfying when it works.
Imust, I must, I must get out more.........
