I'll take your word for it.

I was only ever in Christiansand and the mountains in that area.

I'm glad you think my postings were safe though. Would you like to tell the families of my dead mates that? Or would you prefer to look up the roll of honour for 2 UDR and 11 UDR first?

Have a good time here on the Forum........

As I said, I'm getting off at this stop. The thread is becoming pathetic.

In my considered opionion mate you just brought the tone down quite a bit with your 'safe postings' comment.

As my old CO ('Mad' Arthur Denaro) used to say - there's a lot of heroes in this world, I'm just not one of them.

It was nice to bask in your reflected light though.

Well Doc all I can say is, read through the thread.

I've just been frolicking around like a little bunny rabbit with all my new pals. I didn't realise I was in the company of heroes until I was told that all my postings and attachments were 'safe' ones.

I could have kissed him and made up but he ran away very quickly when I got bitchy and the strap on my handbag was too short to reach him with a clout.

Sorry.

Pilgrim, you got mail too.

With regards to yours can I just make something clear?

All the postings and attachments I listed above were real. Each one was for a duration of time long enough to be a posting or at worst a short attachment.

Setting that aside, the reason I posted them was so others could identify places I have been so we could perhaps share views or laughs about them.

If anyone thinks I'm a Walter then check my regimental website at http://bb.qrh.org.uk where you'll fine me interacting with other QRIH guys who served with me.

I didn't join up to spend the rest of my life keeping it a secret. I joined for fun and adventure and to have a few stories to have a laugh about.

There's nothing I experienced that I'm reluctant to chat about.

GD..... Still you miss the point.... Here there is no need to publicise your previous antics as you can read individuals history without having to search too far....If you are too idle to search for the info, then you can get a good idea of where and what people have done by reading their posts.

I really do believe you are on a hiding to nothing by keeping on about people’s history... I guess that all the answers you will get will be similar to those of mine and Artist’s.... If you are lucky...

Wana know what I did..... Read my on going posts of what it was like to be at sea as a Bootneck....A tad boring I suppose from being a member of the Queen's Royal Hussars. Oh and a Thespian

No Mike - you're missing the point. It's about having a laugh is all.

You also seem to have missed the point with regards to my regiment and my occupation. I was neither in the Queen's Royal Hussars nor am I a thespian. You'll forgive me then for not remembering information posted on other threads before I joined if you can't be arsed to read back a couple of pages on this thread to find out which regiments I served in?

I'm just trying to have a laugh - if you and one or two others round here would remember that it would be extremely helpful. I'm not trying to be hostile but I am pointing out that the thread is innocuous - it's about service histories on a service/ex-service website.

I'm quite capable of taking the piss and quite happy to have it extracted (the order doesn't matter) I just wish some of you lot would stop the friggin lecturing though. You don't have to like me but it would be nice if you unfixed bayonets long enough to let me sit down at the bar.

GD

Been about fifty years since I last opened a book in Latin and your "quote" intrigues me. My rough translation is along the lines of :-

1. Something about having a catapult ?

2. I have no money for my laundry bill ?

3. Refers to the salt being about finished ?

A more accurate transcription would be appreciated.

Thanks.
