Follow the link to the Daily Telegraph obituary, interesting character. Captain Bill Jenkins, who has died aged 77, was the youngest Royal Marine to win a DSO in the Second World War.

What a read!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh what a fantastic explosion??????????????

Get your head down you daft bugger from the rear.

But I knew someone just like him down south, and we came through it together.

Yes how many more of these quiet little characters are still around.

Just like one day I was outside my house doing nothing as usual when round the corner came this bloke. "Hello you must be Malone?" "Yes mate" I replied.......not knwing who he was.
He was living next door in the old folks home.

Maj Gen Leach-Porter.

They just disappear.....but they are still there.... somewhere

They slip without a whisper
After all is done

These men of wonder
we should look up to every one

Quiet and unasuming
They seem to be

Look them in the eye
and you will see

Battles fought and won
Hero's 'not I' they say

But YES the medals say it all
every damn one!

HERO's YES
EVERY ONE!
