Tattoos

A young Matelot who was P7R had the misfortune to be drafted to the Printshop in Pompey. And was well impressed with some of the lads Tattoos. So he went to this tattoo Artist in Pompey and had "Blood Groupee O neg" whacked on his upperarm.

When it was pointed out that the Artist had mis-spelt Group the Matelot was non to pleased but out of it came his Knickname in the Office and indeed his knickname for the rest of his career in the Andrew.

It started out as COUNT DRACULA. This was later shortened to just COUNT. After a few more weeks the o was omitted and he became.........Well work it out for yourselves. :D

He hated it bigtime but unfortunately for the poor lad the more he dripped the more the name stuck. We then started to call him "C**TLIP" knowing full well he would get an even bigger Bazzy on, finally it became just "LIP" which drove him up the wall until it was pointed out that it was 100% better than being called C**TLIP.

His surname was Mullholland by the way. And in hindsight the monicker "LIP MULLHOLAND" didnt sound that bad really compared to.....well you know, the other one.

Royal can be so cruel can't he! :D :D

This has been discussed before.
I have tat's so does Mrs Wholley.
I have no problem with mine as I'm to old to care.
Her indoors are in an un-viewable place to anyone but me.
My advise to ya'll.THINK.
My tat,s don't bother me,because I don't see them anymore.
BUT A FUTURE EMPLOYER WILL!

During my 22 I was tempted on many occasions to 'get ink' but never did. Many of my oppos got some very impressive tats especially when we were deployed to some exotic corner of 'our Globe'.
However I witnessed some spectacular cock ups. One of the lads at 40 Cdo returned after a visit to Doc Price and was proudly showing of his new 'Royal Marines Commando' tat on his shoulder when someone suggested that Doc might have been a little under the weather.
The tat actually read 'Royal Marines Commado'.
To be fair Doc offered to correct his error at no extra charge. He changed the 'd' to an 'n' the 'o' to a 'd' and stuck another 'o' on the end. You could hardly see the join ..............NOT!

I've got 2 tattoos. 1 at the top of my left arm, the other at the top of my right bicep. Got the first one over 2 years ago & the other about a year ago. I still really like them & think that they look good, but I don't go around showing them off all the time as I'd look like a right mincer.

However, I am a bit worried about what the reaction to them will be if/when I get into training. Oh well, guess I'll just have to wait & see :roll:

I'd also like to get some kind of Corps tattoo done after/if I pass out & have served for a while (probably something on my back). I'd never get anything done that is visible when wearing short sleeves though as it can jeopardise future employment prospects - both in the Corps and out.

A granny with tattoos? Well, it's different I suppose. I might tattoo my granny.

yeah she's got a bunch from when she was a girl, and some little x's on her neck and face from where she had radio therapy for cancer... and they look weird... like having little crucifix's on your face... and 'cos she's a nut-job it doesn't really help..

You don't come accross many grannies with tattoos. I think I'm going to tattoo an anchor on my granny's forearm, like Popeye.

Goodbye Darkness, a book about the USMC's island fighting in WWII, tells a story about a kid who arrived in Marine boot camp with the words, "Hi There" tattooed on the inside of his foreskin. :)

I used to go out drinking with an ex Para sergeant who had his name "wayne" tattooed on the inside of his lip. He was covered in tats, though. I think he just couldn't fit any more anywhere else.

I just recently came back from Magaluf and there were some guys out there who woke up one morning only to discover that they had their hotel room numbers tatoo'd on their armpits! :lol:

Woke up one morning after my 21st birthday night run ashore in a strange country,could'nt remember a lot about what happened but knew my a**e was a bit tender.Panic set in when I could'nt get my shreddies off as the blood had stick then to me.With a rapid tug all was revealed,I still had my cherry but my oppo's from 41s AE Tp had got me a lovely present of a pair of blue eyes on my buttocks,what a relieve!!

I don't see the problem with women having tattoos. I have had one since I was sixteen. Its a black rose on my upper right arm.

I don't regret my decision and have never thought of having it removed.

So whats the problem with women having tattoos mine has never caused any problems for me.
