Looking for a matlot

Post by Ploggers »

I have been asked if I could trace this ex-matlot. Don't worry, it's not a paternity suit!!

" Stuart Venables. He joined in 1977 and was still in the RN in 1981. He did his basic training at HMS Raleigh, and Yeovilton.

During the 1982 Falklands was he was shipped out to the Falklands but I have no idea on which ship. I believe he was shipped out from HMS Heron in Somerset.

His date of birth is 24 April 1959 and he was originally from Birmingham. I know his brother Dave was also in the RN, in submarines.
Between 1977 and 1980 he was stationed at other places but I don't remember the names. He spent a few months somewhere in the Arctic area around 1978 and in some US naval base in 1979.

That is about all I remember. "

Anyone know anything?
