Mooltan Barracks is a nice place isn't it, probably one of the nicest (and newsest) parts of Tidworth.
BATUS is the British Army Training Unit Suffield, basically our base in the Canadian wilderness! The training area is so large that an AS90 in the middle of it can fire a round with the barrel as high as it will go and the round will still land inside the area!!! The army goes there normally at brigade level for a massive set of exercises, working up from low level field training rapidly to battlegroup exersises. It is the last major training a unit will undertake before going into its "warfighting" (high readiness) year. They use a giant laser quest system during the exercises: basically you still fire blanks but at the same time a laser is sent and you are told if you get a hit or are killed. Evry weapon system is fitted up, so you can get laser artillery blasts. V cool!
All the brummies and stokies i met at the STAFFORDS were really nice and good guys, so i will be v happy to serve with them!
Good luck again and I hope to run in to you some time.
