Met Swasie in Hunter Coy too - a real inspiration it has to be said. He loves the Hunter Lads, loves the corps.

Another honourary green lid I saw in whilst biffed was Jimmy Saville . . . that, I can tell you, was a very surreal sight.

In the gym hiding from the RIs as you do and in walks JS in a ...

Hello there

I'm in phase 1 rct training with RMR Bristol.

Your phys sounds fine except for the running. You need to be cracking at least 3x3 miles in under 22 mins every week on the road as per our PTI but personally I'd say you'd be best off doing more, a lot more.

There is no selection weekend ...

Hello there

I'm with Beowulf on the phase 1 course with RMR Bristol but from the Poole Det. As far as I have been told there is no holding troop at Poole but I should imagine there would be no problem with you going along.

Best thing to do is ask for the number for Poole Det and give them a ring ...

No selection weekend - you have a kit issue weekend and will do the Bleep test and a BFT.

No it's not and the simplest way to prove this to yourself beyond all doubt is to test the theory. Run 3 miles on the treadmill then three miles on the road the next day . . . . and then tell your mate he's a wally.

The only people I know who run on a treadmill are crap at running

Dunno about shifts but from what we've been told you can take as long as necessary to get your lid.

Hi mate, sorry i dropped off the radar after promising you that running program . . . . .

From what the Sgt said during the admin lecture, it's possible to miss two weekends, three at a push so i don't know whether you'll be set back too far. It's map reading as far as I know on HM and that ...

The upheaval that joining the regs will bring could compromise your home life. That is of course your decision but I'd advise caution because you get caught in a bubble at lympstone and it's hard to see how anything outside is as relevant or important as the job in hand. It's not impossible with a ...

I wouldn't take anything from the PJFT, just look on it as another section of the joining process squared away.

You'll all pass PRMC if you really want to fellas, just have some self confidence. As Dwarfy said, some guys get poor times because they're not runners, no great shakes because PRMC is ...

Personally I prefer distances over times but I can't speak about time training as I've never done it.

Try not to plod around the same circuits or simply add on a little here or a little there.

Variety is the spice of life and so mix the training up. You'll get faster by adding speed sessions, you ...

Fellas, take a step back for a minute

There are ex-bootnecks on here, show them the appropriate respect they deserve. You will learn very quickly in RT that what you think you know counts for absolutely nothing and noone wants to hear it even if it did.

If you want to come on hear spouting about ...
