I'm pretty sure a young Marine straight out of the box is on the lowest earning band, equal to a matelot who's just finished his 8 week basic or a pongo after his 12. It's an arguement that is dripped about fairly constantly...for all the hard work we put in, being the 'elite', why is there nothing ...

Anyone can apply for Recce Troop. I was tempted to put my name forward for the current 42 selection course but am waiting for the next one, just to get some more experience and grav time in the bag.

Recce selection has no rigid structure and usually depends on the team taking it. However, the ...

Hey mate. Good to hear from you again. Didn't you go to 45 after you passed out?

General buzz is that 45 will be the next lot off if anything is required. Sadly, 42 has moved into the 'Viking' phase which is apparently more important. D'oh! Keep well and have a safe tour Royal. If you know ...

Sorry Stat, I was always told that King of Shave is the daddy. My small bottle lasted me all training. Well worth it and removes the mess that a shaving brush (or extra admin to counter this) can make in a wash bag. How are you mate? Enjoying RMR training?

I'd probably leave before the others see this and lambast you. I don't think the old and bold appreciate computer geeks pretending they're booties. So take the hint 'man' and do one. Love, a real marine xxx

The Commando role in WWII was mainly to be used for raids, a hard-hitting force that stormed in and out, disabling key positions, disrupting the enemy etc. Usually this came in the form of ship to shore, sneaky beaky style raids. In essence, it wasn't really 'behind the lines'; just moving in, doing ...
