My advice is just to do them down to the floor, that way if its 45 degrees on PGAC you will find it much easier but if it is down to the floor on PGAC you will be more prepared than some of the other lads who have been practising doing them down to 45 degrees.

Well I took gunner75 and ofens advice, I took 3 days off of running (I know its not much but still :D ) but I started again today and I ran 3 Miles in 23.37 knocking off 1 minute 14 seconds off my last time (24.51). So thanks alot lads! I now need to get it down to 22 minutes haha :lol:

At the moment I can only do around 30-40 press ups and 40-50 sit ups (Some days I can do 29 press ups then the next Ill do 42 etc) will that be enough to pass PGAC? Im confident I will pass the 3 miler, bleep test etc but not as confident on press ups.

I just want to reinforce gunner75 's post above about taking a short break (e.g. a week) once in a while, when you feel your training is not progressing or you have pain/niggles/feel ill.
Does a lot of good, and in that short time you won't lose the progress you've made.

We are being tested on 3 Mile run :wink:

The only reason I do a 1.4 Mile run is because I do 2 laps of a field and 2 laps are exactly 2000 Meters (1.4 Miles).

Ive changed my running plan a few weeks ago to this:

Monday: 3 Mile run
Tuesday: 5 Mile run
Wednesday: 1.4 Mile run (Fast)
Thursday: Rest
Friday: 3 Mile run
Saturday: 5 Mile run
Sunday: 1.4 Mile run (Fast)
Monday: Rest

And everytime Ive gone for a run Ive improved eg. Ran 3 Miles on Monday in 25 ...

I was speaking to a friend who had his PGAC a few weeks ago (Dont know exact date) and he failed but I know he worked very hard to try and pass but obviously not hard enough. I think the fitness standerds have been raised :o

Ive improved dramatically over the past few weeks. I now run 3 miles in 26 minutes (It took me 34 minutes a few weeks ago) and can do 35-45 Press ups and 40-50 Sit ups in 1 minute.

Im just wondering if Im doing the Press ups correctly because some people I know do them with elbows tucked but I do ...

Do you know when the next PGAC is? I passed my Medical a few days ago and just waiting for my PGAC dates.

Ok, Ive been running 3000 meters everyday but yesterday I decided to go up to 5000 meters (3 miles) I completed the 3 miles but it took me a massive 34 minutes :oops: I tried again today, I went faster and it took me 30 minutes, knocked off 4 minutes in a day, I am knackerd but very happy... Anyway ...
