Unlucky matey, how far through RT were you? from what the AFCO said it sounded like an adventure weekend...rock climbing, sailing and a few other things (still waiting on the letter). theres one on the 30th of this month if you want to look about.

Meni Straights

Alright fellas, just had a call from my AFCO today asking if i wanted to go to a course the marines are doing up in the Meni straights! the date i was given was the 1st of October.(more info in the post)
is anyone else going down to this course or has anyone done anything similar? :)

Alright mate, generally the marines are looking for good cardio fitness i.e. running. once you hand in the application you have to complete a series of test, some academic the others physical. the phys tests are your PJFT (pre joining fitness test) this is a 1.5 mile run on a treadmill to be ...

Cheers for the advice there lads, il ease up for the time being and run on the footy pitch for a while and see how it goes.
Ironrob the exercise you describing is dorsal raises i think mate, Iv put them in my training anyway to see if it helps.

Ive been training now for the best part of a month, and really focusing on my running as my pace really lets me down, to solve this ive been doing plenty of fartlek and hill sprints and this type of training is new to me as is the pain in the bottom of my back:lol:.

Thanks for the info mate, I gave the 3mile run ago today anyway just to see the times i'm getting at the moment and 27 minutes 34 seconds is my PB :o. Alot of effort and ill hopefully knock the minutes off soon enough.
