Alright chaps. I am currently on a TG course at the moment and you will need the 12 padlocks of a medium size. Firstly, you might start off in a block with only 3 lockers but it's handy to have spares if someone locks your keys in the locker and you have to bolt cut them off (not happened to me ...

I woud not worry too much about the distance you need to run as the PTI's will gradually increase the distance and your fitness levels. As long as you can comfortably run 1.5miles in under 12minutes (not on treadmill) you should be ok. All the best.

Alrite chaps. The driving course is done after you graduate and is a one week intensive course run by civilian instructors. So basically exactly the same as civvies do.

I would not worry about your age mate. Like SHOOT_ME said you will benefit as you will have more life experince. Also, on the course I am on at the moment there are guys as old as 28.

It does say 9 years service but when you sign the notice of engagement it allows you to hand in your notice (after 3years service) at any time and 18months later you will leave the RAF. So total time, 4.5 years.

Basically the medical consisted of:
Weighing you.
Measuring your height.
Measuring your bodyfat.
Taking the size of your feet.
Getting you to walk on special sensor runway (5m) a few times to assess the pronation of your foot.

The stuff with the pronation of your foot is good to see and that in the ...

Lol yes, do make sure the bottle is full of water. We had a lad on our PGAC that did not have his bottle full and had to down a full bottle and was promptly sick straight after. Quite amusing to be honest....and remember DEHYDRATION IS A BATTLEFIELD CASUALTY!

Alrite chaps?

I am going on the 10th Feb TG course...can't wait. Basically in the interview they just go over (briefly) your family background, knowledge on the Regiment, view on drugs, why you want to join and how much fitness you are doing.

All the best with the interview mate. Let us know how ...

It was best effort for everything (bleep, PU, SU). Word of warning though, make sure you get at LEAST 10 clear for the PU and SU. For the bleep and get at LEAST half a level above (i.e. 9.6 instead of 9.1). Also, probably best to have your own boots WELL worn in before you go down or you get landed ...

Thanks for the reply Alex. I did have a look at that link but wasn't sure as the recruiter at the AFCO said it was 3 different strokes over 150m?? But to be honest, from what I gather they just change the test at the drop of hat so will just have to get on with it regardless.

Hi there,

I wouldn't worry to much about admitting to trying Cannabis. I have once, and admitted it in my Gunner interview last week and passed. I think as long you were honest, it was just once and you now have zero tolerance on drugs they will probably be "OK" with it.
