Cheers mate, I think I might take your advice, just waiting for an email to confirm if I can start training in September. Does your wife enjoy her job? Do you think it would be possible to join RMR later down the line or would not being able to work weekends be a problem?

I did 55mile ten tors years ago with no training, it wasn't that hard to be honest. I thought you had to camp during the hours of darkness so its not non-stop?

On that morning you will have a go at the Commando slide / zip wire.

You will then have a run through of the assault course, practising a couple of sections at a time. You will then do a timed best effort on the assault course. It will probably take you just over 3 mins, practise ...

They were not very specific on style. I did marine style because thats what i'm used to.

But, get this, you can rest on your knees at any time as long as you keep your hands on the mat! Pis3ed myself at that.

Sit ups are hands on chest, shoulders on mat, up to 90 degrees and back down. Easier ...

I phoned 23 about joining without any previous service. They said that you have to have passed CIC before attempting selection. They normally arrange it with 4 PARA.

Does anyone know if you do P Company also?

CIC/P-Coy has just changed and you do P-Coy, then CIC in a 2 week block. You will have ...

Requirements are

60 press ups 2 mins
60 sit ups 2 mins
1.5mile 9:30

If you are pretty close you will be fine.

It's very easy, don't stress about it.

I'm not saying it's hard but you CANNOT wing it. Make sure do some proper revision for it. As the questions in the section go on they do get harder, so just doing the ones in the practice booklet isn't enough, well, in my opinion anyway.

If it was me though, I would have a rest off running for 4 or 5 days, then go for run and see how you feel. Knowing me I would go to prmc whatever if they are just niggles.
