treadmill

I have to disagree with the comment on treadmills, i guess it all comes down to the individual, I have a friend who competes in many running events and does most of the training on a treadmill. I also rate them, on the road i can run 3 miles in 19mins which includes sprinting 3 hills. i struggle to ...

Yeah, i suffered with terrible pain for over a year and it got to the point where it was painful walking. I had custom orthotics made which relieved the pain but i still couldnt run pain free, it just wasnt as bad. I then had actupuncture which worked wonders, but after about a month they came back ...

rgj

yeah, the exercise rgj descirbed worked great but i too found it didnt remove the pain completely, i suffered from terrible shin pain. But, by using an inner tube around the ball of my foot i was able to add resistance, and that done the trick. Sit down, raise you leg so that it is straight and ...

orthos

Have you considered over the counter insoles or custom orthotics, i too have suffered from shin splints in the past, i opted for custom orthotics as i over pronate slightly. There expensive but worth every penny, and i can happily run pain free :)

splints

euro_andrew, i know how you feel. I suffered from shins splints for over a year and nothing seemed to work, i could not get rid of them. I decided to go for my prmc not having done much running at all. All my cv work was done cross training in the gym, 20mins bike, 20mins cross-trainer thing, and a ...

sprints

Hi

No not really, we sprinted over a bridge, done a couple of push ups, sit-ups, and two sprints for a warm-up, had a stretch and then done the run which was quite a nice pace all the way. Gym test two though, we must of been sprinting for 20mins non-stop after those games, it was intense.
