7.

It's 4 days and its harsh. First exercise with kit musters, crash moves, mega early inspections (4:30am for 920!)

You do some target identification and some a very basic night nav but it's really any excuse to get you running up and down those damn hills lol.

geez, we were doing kit musters ...

As said above I think it depends on your training team. In the first few weeks of training we just had to tuck the covers under the matress and keep the bed looking tidy. Unfortunately a few biffs in the troop couldn't manage that and now our beds have to be spotless and in bed blocks with the under ...

Its basically that, its like climbing the stairs and is great for all the muscles in your legs. This has seriously improved my sprinting too.

I always assumed the stepper was one of those "girls only ...

I do most of my running outdoors now. I suggest the treadmill because it doesn't look like lodgi has done his PJFT yet.
From personal experience I've found the best way to train and exercise is to perform that exercise. It sounds obvious but a good example would be people who perform weights ...

lodgi, I'd recommend finding yourself a very long steep hill to sprint up 3 times a week. If you can't complete the whole hill in one sprint then have very short intervals of walking between sprints.

Also, if you haven't completed your PJFT yet I'd recommend getting yourself on a treadmill too ...

the 3 mile run by itself isn't that challenging if you've trained for it. It's the constant abuse from sprinting in the bleep test, bottom field, assault course and gym test 2 that really take it out of you.
hill sprints and interval training are key!

Sammy,
I'm just about to leave to catch the train myself, so I'll keep an ear open for anyone called "Sam/Sammy" once I arrive in lympstone.
If you haven't left yet and you're reading this then I look forward to seeing you down there!
I'll probably write up a diary too if anyones interested.
Best of ...

It's a lot harder running with an incline, you can notice the difference with just 0.5% so 2% will make quite a difference.
PJFT should have 0% incline, make sure it is!

Any low impact/high CV activity will increase your VO2. So any of the above will be suitable.
When I had problems with my shins in the past I spent a lot of time on the cross trainer as it was the most similar to running but didn't cause me any pain.
I'd also recommend having a look through the ...
