Running on a Treadmill Vs Running on a track...

Okay so I'm getting okay at running now, clearing a mile in 07:50. Pleased with myself.
But I spoke to a mate (a chain smoker and a really overweight dude, no less!) who tells me that treadmills are the easy way out.

In all honesty, the only reason I pay attention to his comments is the thought ...

I paid plenty of attention to it when running today - it didn't seem anywhere near as bad. I think it was probably something to do with getting back into running again, as it does seem to be improving :).

I don't know, I can't remember the last time I've had acid indigestion.
I suppose it's just where my throat gets really dry, it just feels like it's burning, like I badly need a drink.

Given a choice I'd rather use one of the more advanced sleeping bags on the market. Same warmth and protection from the elements in a package 25% of the size.
At least that's what they're advertised as having, though I have to admit, I haven't slept in one yet.

Burning Throat

Sorry if it's been posted before - I did search.

I'm spending a lot of time running these days, and one thing I can't get away from is after a while, maybe 2 miles of running, I get the typical really bad burning throat.
Now I quit 10-a-day smoking about 5 weeks ago and my health has been ...

Leaving is one of the biggest regrets of my life. Don't make the same mistake; it'll haunt you for years to come.

Seconded. There were times when I hated being in there (mostly when I was frozen, or soaking wet) and all I could think about was leaving. There were other times (just as many if not ...

I have to admit, when I saw that the AAC do some of their training (albeit for a trade that I have no interest in taking up) at deepcut I did have a slight "errr" moment.

That said though, a year round various training centers (not including Deepcut though), and I never had any trouble at all ...

Back into the fold...

Hi all, name's Andy.

I'm here because I intend to get fit, and get myself back into the Army (or rather, more into the army than I was before)...

My military experience is limited to about 8 months in the ATC (I was so cute then) and a year in one of the local TA Units - good fun, but like the ...
