Just keep things simple mate, Two pairs of socks (one thin then a thick pair over the top to reduce friction between your heels and the boot).
Get yourself a good, well made boot thats right for the job and stick a sorbothane insole to reduce the impact of speed marching.

Stay well away from Magnums mate, there are better boots going for a lot less money that will offer you better quility. Personally i have found lowa mountain boots very Practical and worth the money. However there are plenty of boots that would be worth a look at. such as hanwag, Pro boot and ...

Try walking up/down one hill for X amount of time (lets say 1-2 hours). To add to that try walking up the your choosen hill backwards for a few reps (just be carefull with the ankles), it really gets the quads working. As T_T has said go easy on the weight to start, then build up slowly.

Cheers for all the replys fellas. From what i have read it seems clearly obvious to stay away from an airborne bergan, so i have invested in the new PLCE model.
Just to clear one thing up, i was aiming to get on the hills rather than pounding the streets with weight (obviously not the best of ideas ...

What boot/s would people recomend for tabing.This subject has been covered before (some time ago) and i was just wondering weather there are any new boots that would be worth a look. I'd be looking for a boot that provides Support, cushioning and built well to last.

I'm currently trying to increase my stamina and endurance levels. Long distance biking, Long distance swimming come to mind. Out of the two say if i were exercising for 1-2hours, which do you believe would offer me the the better results.

P****D me off! Bl**dy disgrace. One of the ex service men made a very good point. "Just keep taking your medication your ok, well if i'm on medication obviously i'm not".

Yes you can pause in the Press-up position for around 3 to 4 seconds before the PTIs scream at you to do more :D .
Try using the search button as i'm sure this has been covered before.
