this isn't about yomping or tabbing, terminology or anything else, it is about whether a guy who's going on selection can use the roads and tracks. roads are a no, tracks are a yes, as told by the ds. i used them as well as the sb blokes. and i didn't get binned, and nobody lays any ambushes over ...

fair one, i agree with that 100%. shortest route isn't always the fastest. however test week is a test of phys and nav
also i didn't say roads. what i meant was, the guys who have previously attempted and passed selection have made these routes by walking them, and these tend to be followed by each ...

be careful though, you have to carry a gps in the top of your bergen (on test week) so its difficult not to get caught. however they often dont work, especially when the battery is removed.......!!!!!!!!

running with a bergen....? to be honest we were told not to... however most of us ignored them and cracked on, but then most left the course through injury. they did say that if we had to train dont carry more than 25lbs and keep on the soft stuff as much as poss to reduce the impact on the ...

hi all, just a quickie, you can't join 23/21 as a civvi anymore, unless your on the next course that starts in 3 weeks. they require you have passed phase 2 training with a length of service(not sure how long this is)

as far as i know sloth, high walk got ditched. and fan is on. to be fair though, i'd prefer it that way. high walk is nails, not that the fan isn't difficult. but i know what i'd prefer to do.

yeah fair one, the usuall routine for the w/e is scrapped. you drive up on fri night and start at 7ish on sat morning. then walk till late sat night/sun morning, get a little kip and then your off home. it's not a particullarly nice route and the weights are quite high. however this is very near to ...

mike,

you do a longish march on the sat, and a speed march on the sunday. there maybe a night march, more of a insight than anything else and there probably will be a 50+ km endurance march in there at some point.....

quickie. i only ever practised running 5 miles in 35 mins and 8 miles in an hour. the rest i did on a bike....
