Ive just been onto the Army online website to speak to somebody about joining the TA as a UAV operator and was told that the TA do not have any UAV units. On the army jobs it does say that you can become a UAV operator in the TA? Can anybody tell me if it is possible or not?

I'm not sure what I will go for yet but I just want to gather as much info as I can. I do appreciate that in any role you can be mobilised, Im just looking for a general rule of thumb.

And yes so...do you wear the cap badge of the royal green jackets in the 2nd batallion rifles or did they just all move there and become a part of rifles...do the 2nd batallion rifles do the job of the royal green jackets?

Sorry I couldn't reply in time. I'll only echo what RA_tom has said, with your current fitness, you should be absolutely fine. You will be fitter than most of the recruits that turn up to Malta Barracks.

By capbadge he means, what regiment/corps are you joining?

PS. You need to be able to do 44 ...

Thought I'd point out that the TA is currently in a period of intelligent mobilisation, therefore you wont be called up, you will have to volunteer for deployment.

It'd be slightly difficult seeing as they'd have to be in two places at the same time!

If you want helpful posts without getting ragged I'd drop the textspeak as it might be great for chav.com but this is the military ...
