Thanks Flo. Appreciated.

Well, after 3 (only 3!) weeks, no one has wrapped, and I'm very tired. Plus I'm a daemon with the old ironing board.

Hard work, tiring work, lots to learn. But this is the best job in the world. Wouldn't do anything else.

Well, here we go. I'm off down to sunny Lympstone tomorrow. Should be fun :D . I've bought an iron and everything.

A massive thank you to everyone on here. I'll keep in touch.

Tetanus (I'm guessing), especially as the odds of cutting yourself on something rusty are fairly high in this sort of career.

Boosters for anything you were vaccinated against as a child (my guess here is simply to make sure everybody is immune. Otherwise a disease could sweep through everybody ...

Your score will be whatever stage the tape is currently at.... If you miss the line for the 3rd time when going for the 11.3 bleep.... your score is 11.2

Nope. It's the last line you actually MADE. So to get level 11, you actually need to be taken off the bleep test (ie have missed your third ...

Nah, he caught that disease that's going round walts at the minute.

Terminalbullsh*titis. Terrible illness to have. Only cure is to be made into a PTI's bitch for three days. After that the symptoms never present themselves again.

OI! Cheeky blighter.....

Tough break sd88. Can't really advise on the pilot business. However, as far as university is concerned, go. It's not only good for the brain (if you pay a reasonable amount of attention), it's also the only ...

I'm guessing I'll be one of the oldest in YO training, due to my advanced years. thus making me the wise and learned father figure :D (I don't think so). I remember feeling very strange when my AFCO informed me that I would be too old to apply next year.

"I'm young! I know I'm young! I can't be old ...

I'm currently finishing a PhD in molecular virology. that's why I'm so old (25). Doing the PhD was one of the reasons I applied for the marines (long story).

My POC was in april (I failed) :(
The MINIMUM level required on the RMFA beep test , in order to stay the remaining three days, was 11.2.

Sorry, should have been clearer. 11 is the minimum level you achieve. So you should actually be dropping out at 11.2 (achieving 11 then failing to get to 11.1 ...

No idea about PRMC but for POC it's 11. That said, aim for about 12/13. I got 11.8, and I REALLY struggled through the rest of the course. Could do the distance, but my lungs weren't up to the speed.

Really? Wow. I thought there were more than that.

I'll try and post updates as to how things are going. A 'YO in residence' type affair. But no promises, as I think I might be quite busy. :D

Cheers lads. Just about taken it all in. Still haven't actually SEEN the letter, as I'm away from home until Friday. Rang my mum drunk about half nine last night:

"Read it to me again!" :D

Can't wait to get stuck in. That said, I think I need the six weeks to get my fitness up again, as I've just ...
