I think it will only be a problem if you think of it as one- if you're capable of doing press ups and chin ups I'm sure your shoulder can get through the POC.

In response to Matt's comments, I think the log race wont be too demanding on your shoulder- the log isn't that heavy and your team mates ...

I think it's about setting yourself very tough targets...

For example enter yourself in a half marathon or join a running club and run with better runners than yourself or go to the gym with an absolute gym monster!

Before my POC I entered a race in Devon called 'The Grizzly' it's 20 miles long ...

It is possible to get the same results as carrying weight by just running up and down a steep hill- it really strengthens your legs and doesn't do you any damage. This is especially useful when on the POC you are required to do a 100m and 200m fireman's carry.
