Imagine a landfill sight. Now visualise the large scree slopes of rock and slate you get. Ok now, make that slightly steeper. Ok now you have a small area on the ITC Training area called the land of nod!!! Basically you ...

If you have never done them before, or are not used to doing them, you will find you cannot do them, have difficulty trying, or even get pain from them. Basically your abdominal muscles in this case are not used to this type of exercise.

To overcome this, you need to get them used to it!!!

Start ...

The interview is basic. They want to basically find out about you and whether or not you are motivated enough to firstly join your chosen unit, and secondly, motivated enough to be in the army.

Questions you can expect to be asked can be about family, school, current and previous sports, why you ...

Providing nothing has changed, I do belive it is possible. This is because there was one platoon I was on exercise with (para), who had about 5 line-reg guys come on exercise, to see what it was like, as they wanted to transfer to the Paras. In the end none of them did, as they did not like what ...

Don't get too stuck up on what foods you can and can't eat mate. Basically just think of food as energy. The best sources of energy been those full of carbohydrate, such as pastas, potatoes, etc.

When you get to depot, no one really cares whats been eaten. Often things like the bacon have more fat ...

In the stages of RSC, the medical they give you is as standard for the army. Usually about 5 people or so fail the medical. The common reasons are, as gazza said, from a heart murmur. However this is not anything too serious and most army hopefulls are recommended to see a doctor and re-take RSC ...

If you ask me, it is worth it and it isnt mate.

It might be worth getting used to punching a bag at the end of the day, for fitness, power and speed, however, end of the day its only 60seconds in the ring with someone about your height and build. The whole point of it is to mark a recruit on ...

Alrite mate,

In reply to some of your questions...

Its only a good or bad idea to how it will suit you. Are you ok with leaving australia and coming to the UK to train and work, and so on. There were some australians in my platoon.

The minor degree of colour blindness would probably not stop you ...

You are paid every day of the week. I was reffering to the different amount of days in each month, some been 29, others been 30 some been 31days. This is what changed the final amount been paid out to you each month, even if it is just by a couple of pounds.

Some people joined the army from a higher wage than army pay, some from a lower wage. You view will depend on what work, if any, you did before joining, and the wage you were previously on. A rough guide to what is paid, is about £680 per month, increasing to upto £750 per month after 6 months. The ...

As someone said before, you do not have to do the tests with pressups, otherwise known as the BPFA (Basic Personal Fitness ...
