Technically speaking yes, but thats working on the basis that (a) you pass basic (b) your application for sf is accepted (c) you pass sf training.

Wot I was trying to say was that OZ commandos compared with RM Commandos are better because they are special forces and the RM is a regular unit (elite ...

Its ok for peeps to have an idea of what they want to do in the corps.
Everybody knows how hard training is and just because we're here talking about what we'd like to do doesnt mean that we think its gonna be easy.

If you dont like it then your obviously in the wrong thread ...

I have just read the article on Australlian Commandos. I wish I could say I agree that British Commandos are better but I cant.

Firstly OZ Commandos are Special Forces, they get SF Pay hence the reason why you would earn so much compared to brit commandos. Secondly OZ Commandos go through 3 years ...

Point taken, but I am only using it as to put the point across that I am apart of the Royal Marines, although not yet a Royal Marine Commando.

I'll think you'll find many users of the site using there units logo so I dont see the problem.

But if it offends that much then I will change it.

RM Recruit, Hi

Have been using this site for a few days now so thought I best introduce myself.

I am starting my basic training with the RM on 26th April and hopefully all will go well.

Hoping to get into Platoon Weapons (Sniper) specialisation & eventually Mountain Leader.

St. Patricks day is here again and its time to go out and get pissed on guiness and then after 5 pints get a free guiness hat!! :D What more could you ask for????

Isnt it funny how we celebrate Irelands patron saint more than our own (Mine being St. George, for scotland & wales Im unsure)

Fair play to you for giving it a go, especially being so young!

As many have said you are young and have lots that you can do and achieve before considering joining the RM. If you got into uni you could apply to join as an Officer this would also give you the ...
