After the amount of training you'll have done before going to free fire or other zones, you'll be doing just fine.
Like everything it takes a little time to get sorted out and to see where the land lies. Change is always a shock, good or bad. Just enjoy it while it lasts.

Read the posts carefully and you'll find I answered a query by someone wanting to join the TA.
As someone asked a reasonable question I gave a reasonable answer from my experience - when a unit is in the field they have an A2 echelon, REMFs - included in that is the medical section which has a link ...

No, like a good squaddie, I carried ample supplies with me. Having been in the field for weeks on numerous occasions (1988 on exercise or support ops for more than 6 months of the year) I had the stuff with me. It's not difficult to be prepared when you know what the score is.

I suffer from a whole range of allergies, inc. hayfever and one anti-hystamine pill and a nasal spray do the biz for me. Whenever we were in the field (Germany or UK) this stuff would go in my survival kit on my webbing.

I served alongside 2RGJ in Germany (86-88?) and found them to be the most aggressive, fight orientated people going. If they couldn't find another squaddied from another regt to fiight, they'd take out a civvie. If no squaddies or civvies, they'd fight themselves.
When they were posted out they ...

Both my brothers served in RN - I served Army and whatever the calling, I personally think that both are singlies jobs. RN seemed to be a lot more cushy (you also get to see loads more unless you're in a regt/corps with a "Soldier requires passport" on the posting order).
I for the most part ...

Many thanks to all of you for your kind comments!
I left about 10 years ago - I couldn't settle in UK - not enough scope (or sunshine for that matter!
John Major was still i/c (and as for Tony & gang...!) and I moved to Cyprus to start with. Spain followed and then Cyprus again. I moved to Spain ...
