Joining Process / Medical

Hi, I was wondering what the joining process / recruitment is like at the moment? Is it still slow or are things picking up? Does anybody know roughly the joining process time for the Royal Engineers? How far in to the application process is it before the medical takes place?

My reason for wanting ...

Royal Engineers - What's recruitment like at the moment?

Hi, could someone please tell me what the current situation with recruitment is into the RE. I heard a few months back that it was slow with long waiting lists and not many trade options were open.

The trades I would be interested in are Carpenter or Electrician. If someone could let me know the ...

Thanks for the quick reply. I have always been under the impression that people are born leaders, or with the right qualities to be a leader.

Do you believe then that leadership skills can be learnt and developed. I am a quiet person, with not great ability at speaking out infront of groups of ...

University Graduates

Hi, i am currently at university and still feel a strong sense of direction to a career in the armed forces upon leaving.

My question is: do many graduates join the army not as an officer? I would imagine recruitment would try to steer you towards the officer route. I personally feel i would rather ...

Dont bother with the bench press. Just keep working with your own body weight.

The way too improve them is to just keep at them. 10 is quite easily acheivable if your determinded enough.

How are you doing your press ups at the moment? In sets, or just bashing out as many as you can in a single set ...

"2)15 pushups 2 mins
3)18 heaves-2 mins"

i have never understood how some people think they can do way more heaves in comparrisons to pushups??

18 heaves if being done properly is surely really good? isnt more strength required for heaves as opposed to pushups?

Try running for time rather than distance. If you stick to running the same distance, you will start to run it faster but not increase the distance you are running. If you run for time the distance you cover should hopefully increase within that time period.

I personally would recomend doing three ...

Mate get running outside, whether or not you like the bad weather, your going to need to get used to it.

Personally i find running outside so much more enjoyable and refreshing,
nothing will prepare you for it better than actually doing it.

There are alot of posts here on improving your fitness ...

Ok fair enough if that works for you. I dont seem to stick to doing excercises on a regular basis if i havent got a programme to follow. I really find it motivates me to get it done, rather than put it off and not end up doing anything. So far its working great for me.
