I may join the RMR later this year, and I hope I don't get into this discharge cr*p, because their (being the TA) quick to try and send you on this course and that course, but not quick to let you go...!

It's just when people hear me and they're not from Birmingham and they assume we all speak the same!
They are usually supprised when they find out I am a born-n-raised brummie, and think we all speak the local dialect found towards ...

It was just what I needed, and i need to stop listening to the rumours!!!

Anyone doing this event, Military or Civvie?

I've been to practice events with my unit and we managed to clock 25miles a day over a weekend in about 6.5hrs per day!!!

I can swim but at the moment, 500m is a fair distance for me, do you think I could just do the easy back stroke all the way, lol?

Another quick question, how hard is the map reading test? do you have to do some navigation out in the field or is it all classromm stuff?

I have recently joined the TA as a specialist at RLC in Grantham. At the moment I have completed my TAFS training and awaiting my Recruits Course Dates, but I also have been accepted into university and do not want any of them to clash.

The problem is the university that accepted me is in New York ...
