You are correct, it was an echo location system, it never got issued though as far as I can remember.

GOS44....I think that I am the National Serviceman that you are referring too and yes I may have been out of the Army for a long while but in the last seven years I have been invited back to my old Regiment about five times and have handled all the latest weapons, and I have even done some training ...

I am a re-joiner under a different name, coz I couldn't remember my old log-in info. Like N-H, I have found a lot of experts displaying their book/internet knowledge to one and all on here. There is even an ex-national serviceman advising(sic) posters on current military tactics,kit and weapons. oh ...
