As a trainee gunner you get to go home ONLY on week 4, week 16, week 23, and week 29. They are the only times anyone is allowed to go home apart from on compassionate leave or holidays ie christmas. The training is the hardest time in anyones relationship because of the set hours of being able to ...

I'm 8 weeks through training for the RAF Regt so I can tell you what I've seen so far in terms of relationships. To be perfectly honest, in my opinion its not a good idea. I've seen soo many lads off my course that have been finished with since the course started because of the stress factor of ...

Yeah fair one, cos the thing is lets say capitals was harder than habaniya, and one lad from each was posted to 1sqn, one would be more highly trained than the other, and that would just open a whole can of worms. Just all depends on how you're corporals treat you. We're lucky enough that we'r now ...

Yeah a few fair points there, but what you said about the course in January being the easiest is bullshit. All the courses are the exact same, they all have the exact same ASPECS, tests, programme, fitness requirements etc etc. Only difference being whether the corporals are dickheads or not. Being ...

My advice would be to master the art of spelling, punctuation and grammar before entering any of the armed forces.

Regiment Training Kit List

Hey I start TG in about two weeks and had my final interview at the AFCO afew days ago. Now, I was given a kitlist that the AFCO gives out but she said to use the kitlist that I got in Honington after PGAC because the kitlist they give are much more accurate but the thing is I definitely wasn't ...

'There to train for the job'...

Thats what the training programme is designed to do still, just because awards are given out doesn't take that away. Nothing wrong with a bit of incentive for the recruits to try that little bit harder. Before i even posted the comment I knew you would come out with ...

Just do your best and don't think too much about the scores because it may give you a false sense of security
