If you haven't already, see 'Gooodbye Lenin'. Very much a similar type of humour as Amelie.

3. AI. I cried my eyes out in the cinema "Blue Fairy, Please make me a real boy" even men with steel hearts had to get touched by that one, it gets even worse when he gets his mother back.
