Following notification recieved from the next of kin it is with great sadness that I have to inform you of the death of ex Sub Officer Bill Conlon who died on Sunday 4 January 2004 aged 58 years.
Bill retired in 1987 after 15 years service. He joined the Surrey Fire Brigade in 1972 following his service in the Royal Marines.
The funeral is taking place at Porchester Crematorium,Fareham Hampshire on Thursday 15 January 2004 at 1415 hours.

I knew Bill when he was at Eastney Barracks in "R" Company - had some great runs ashore with him and the rest of the lads. Kept up with him in Guildford and met up again when I moved back to Portsmouth in the 80's - he was a great guy and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

My deepest sympathy to his family at this time
